Privacy policy

In short: I use Google Analytics only if you agree to it in the cookie banner, to see how the site is used. Apart from that, the only data I receive is what you send me through the contact form.
Who I am
www.cmdev.ro is run by Catalin Muresian, a private individual, who is the controller of the data described below. You can reach me through the contact form on this site or on LinkedIn.
What I collect and why
When you write to me through the contact form, I receive your name, email address and message. I use them only to reply to you and, where relevant, to talk about your project. The legal basis is your request, i.e. steps taken before a possible contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and my legitimate interest in answering the messages I receive (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Who else receives it
The form is sent through Web3Forms, an external service that takes the message and emails it to me, so the message also ends up in my email inbox. If you accept analytics cookies, data about your visit goes to Google (see below). I don’t sell, rent or give your data to anyone else.
How long I keep it
I keep messages for as long as we talk or work together, and at most 2 years after the last message, then I delete them.
Technical data
Like any web server, the server hosting this site automatically records the IP address, date, time and page requested (access logs). I use them only to keep the site secure and running, and they are deleted automatically after 14 days.
Cookies and analytics
If you accept in the cookie banner, this site uses Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland Limited) to learn how many visits it gets, which pages are read, where visitors come from (for example a Google search), their country and approximate city, device type and browser. Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_<ID> cookies, which expire after 2 years, and doesn’t store your full IP address. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 4(5) of Romanian Law 506/2004). Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the US, which participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. If you reject, Google Analytics isn’t loaded at all and no cookie is set. Your choice is stored only in your browser (localStorage) and you can change it at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer; if you withdraw consent, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to data portability, and to object to processing. You can withdraw your cookie consent at any time, without affecting processing done before. For any of these, write to me through the contact form. If you believe your data hasn’t been handled properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority (ANSPDCP). www.dataprotection.ro
